Voting for the 2013 Connecting the Community Award is now closed.

In addition to the award category in which she is nominated, each individual nominee is also eligible for the Connecting the Community Award.

 The nominees have selected a YWCA program area that they are interested in or passionate about:

From April 24 to May 17, 2013, the public was able to cast their votes online. The nominee with the most votes will be awarded the Connecting the Community Award and Scotiabank will donate $10,000 to their chosen YWCA program area. The 2013 recipient will be announced at the Awards on May 28th.

The nominee with the most votes for the 2013 Connecting the Community Award was Barbara Mowat, President of Impact Communications Ltd. and GroYourBiz. Scotiabank donated $10,000 to the YWCA program area of her choice: reducing child poverty.

The Connecting the Community Award is a charitable donation to a YWCA service area that greatly needs financial support.
