Anyone who has Parkinson’s or mobility issues will benefit from this program. You’ll improve balance and stability, while increasing strength. Program includes water boxing, agility training, postural cues, and neurological challenges - all in one invigorating workout! Learn and master the skills and drills of Freestyle, and be introduced to backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly in this progressive series.  Guaranteed to increase swim speed and overall effectiveness of your swim workout. ywca swim level 1 / Learn

Learn the fundamentals of water safety and comfort in and around the pool.  This program is for brand new swimmers who would like to develop a fun and safe approach to swimming.  Each stroke with be introduced preceding various drills to ensure that each participant walks away feeling more confident with their overall swimming ability. Pre-requisite: no swim experience necessary

This is a great option for those looking to get a good work out from swimming, and add variety to their routine. Learn good training techniques and how to use certain tools (pace clocks etc.) properly. This level is geared towards intermediate level swimmers, or those who might be interested in their first triathlon or open water swim. Pre-requisite: Able to swim 25-50m comfortably, comfortable in deeper water.

ywca swim combo level 2/3

This split level adult swim program encompasses the use of 3 lanes, one for each level. A separate practice is given to each level. This is a great opportunity to see and learn the progressions of each level and set goals for moving from one level to the next. Included are group activities and other fun learning tools to help you achieve your goals and improve your swim efficiency. Pre-requisite: Level 2 - able to swim 25-50m easily and is comfortable in the deep end. Level 3 - able to swim 50-75m easily, familiar with the four swim strokes, and is comfortable in deep water.

This level is good option for the more advanced swimmer. Those who are looking for a great training opportunity, ongoing stroke correction, group challenges and more. All four strokes are incorporated in this program also including a series of timed swims and endurance bench marks. Good alternative for those in triathlon events or those who want to improve their swim fitness. Pre-requisite: able to swim 100m comfortably, familiar with the four strokes, comfortable in deep water.

This program is designed for anyone in their “golden years”, those living with minor mobility issues or with limited swimming ability.  This swim class starts with an on deck warmup, followed by mobility exercises in the pool then swim progressions and drills. You’ll soon swim with ease and confidence.  Anyone can benefit greatly from this program. This is a  FUN and interactive class.

Paul Cross Masters Swim 

The Academy Institute of Higher Stamina and the YWCA Masters are partnering to launch an exciting program for individuals seeking to enhance their swimming abilities, stroke techniques and personal fitness. Practices will include structured workouts and feedback from coach Paul Cross. Workouts will range from high intensity interval training to endurance training. Coach Paul creates workouts that will help meet swimmers’ individual and collective needs. Masters swimmers should be able to swim 50-75m non-stop.
