Women of Distinction Awards

The YWCA Women of Distinction Awards honours extraordinary women leaders and workplaces from across Metro Vancouver. This premier fundraising event raises over $150,000 to directly improve the lives of thousands of people each year across Metro Vancouver. From sponsorship to volunteer opportunities, the YWCA is always looking for dedicated individuals for this event.

Learn more about participating in the Women of Distinction Awards.

Please contact Special Events Manager, Jena Fair, at 604-895-5768 or distinction@ywcavan.org for available sponsorship opportunities.

Escape From Poverty Challenge

The Escape From Poverty Challenge connects local businesses with YWCA Crabtree Corner staff and clients to raise funds for women and children in the Downtown Eastside. Based on an escape-room format, the Escape From Poverty Challenge asks teams to navigate a series of real-life scenarios faced by low-income single mothers. This activity is an eye-opening experience that builds problem-solving, communication and leadership skills.

For more information, contact Alex Dubelko at adubelko@ywcavan.org

Third-Party Events and Cause Marketing Initiatives

Dedicated YWCA supporters have hosted events to raise money for YWCA programs. Some have donated a percentage of proceeds from the sale of goods or services to the organization. These activities help to create awareness for local businesses while providing much needed financial support to the YWCA.

For more information on how to host a third party event or launch a cause marketing initiative please review the Cause Marketing Campaigns/ Third Party Partnerships toolkit.

If you consider your event to be a suitable fit for the YWCA, please contact Vanessa Wellington (vwellington@ywcavan.org) to apply to host an event and/or campaign.
