YWCA housing communities provide safe and affordable homes for single women and their dependent children. Residents have access to other YWCA programs and services, and a foundation to move towards health, well-being and economic stability. They are located across Metro Vancouver.
We are looking to develop engagement and programs for the families in our communities, and we are looking volunteers that would be interested in sharing their skills and enthusiasm with the mothers or children on a regular or one-time basis.
Areas of interest could be, but are not limited to:
- Health & Fitness (yoga, meditation, exercise)
- Food & Nutrition (meal-planning, recipes and strategies for busy moms, canning workshop)
- Arts & Crafts (knitting, art techniques, music, reading)
- Self-Care (nail care, hair cutting and styling)
- Education & Improvement (budgeting, reading)
We also welcome any interest in other activities not listed. If you have skills and time, please let us know if you would like to become involved.
Please contact Zoë Stronge at zstronge@ywcavan.org for additional information and to discuss possibilities.
