Volunteer Description

YWCA Como Lake Gardens provides affordable housing for single mothers and their children in Coquitlam.

We are looking for volunteers who can help to beautify our shared gardens. 

Tasks Include:
Garbage pickup, weeding, trimming bushes, beautify the space (e.g. remove dead ornamental grass leaves, pressure wash stonework), prep soil/sow grass seed on bare patches, plant bulbs in front planter areas

To bring: 
Extra tools depending on number of volunteers (have some trowels, rakes, etc. onsite)

Requests for Additional Equipment/Supplies:   
Soil and grass seed, herb planter with soil and herbs, flowering or evergreen shrub(s) for front entrance landscape area, bulbs for front planter areas, build/bring veg planters to add to existing compliment, trellises to grow bean/peas along back fenceline.
