Volunteer

Our volunteers are an integral part of the YWCA Health + Fitness Centre. 

If you are passionate about fitness you can make a difference in your community by volunteering with us. 

Ways to volunteer 
  • Fitness Floor Volunteer (available shifts Thursday 9-11AM, Tuesday/Thursday 6-8PM)

  • Aquafit/Cycle/Yoga Instructor 

Volunteer perks 
  • Complimentary membership with towel service 

  • Annual CPR & First Aid re-certification training 

  • KickStart Conference and additional training events each year for BCRPA renewal credits 

 

Prerequisites 
  • BCRPA (or equivalent) registered fitness leader for instructor teaching team

  • Current CPR-A/AED for instructors and fitness floor volunteers

  • Valid Criminal Record Check for instructors and fitness floor volunteers

2-hours a week for a minimum 6-month commitment required. We accept resumes and applications year-round. For more information contact Johanna Ward at jward@ywcavan.org
