This term position is responsible for ensuring invoices & payment requests are properly authorized, coded and paid on time. It is also responsible for handling deposits, posting journal entries, and assisting with accounts payable and other finance related duties.
What you’ll be doing:

Verify and process payment requests using SAP Concur, ensuring accurate upload to the accounting system for timely disbursement.

Execute cheque runs, electronic payments, and wire transfers.

Collaborate with internal departments to streamline invoice processing and resolve payment-related issues.

Invoicing and receipting Childcare parent fees, subsidies, CCOF grants.
-
Perform reconciliations for bank and balance sheet accounts and post journal entries.

Perform backups for Health & Fitness and Hotel deposits.
-
Assist with grant reporting, expenses tracking, and audit working paper preparation.

Reconcile vendor accounts and statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

Assist with managing Petty Cash fund.

Assist with inventory management of client transit tickets and gift cards.

Perform additional duties as required, supporting the Finance department as needed.
What you’ll need:
-
3 – 5 years applicable experience, including accounts payable.
-
Basic accounting courses or equivalent in experience.
-
Strong organization ability to be able to meet multiple deadlines.
-
Strong accuracy.
-
Excellent customer service skills (both internal & external).
-
Ability to analyze information and problem solve.

Working knowledge of accounting software and Excel.
-
A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.

The YWCA Metro Vancouver’s COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended and as a result, vaccination from COVID-19 is not required at this time. However, should circumstances change and the YWCA deem it necessary to reintroduce such policy, you may be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to be eligible to continue performing your duties.
Bonus qualities (but not required):
