Associate Director of Employment and Community Programs

The Associate Director of Employment and Community Programs provides strategic leadership to guide, expand and enhance the YWCA’s program portfolio. Creating new partnerships, working with other community providers and employers, as well as representing the YWCA on community and industry tables are key components of this role. This role focuses on new program development as well as oversight of programs including those of newcomer self-identified women.

Youth Employment Counsellor

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with youth and their love of animals!  The YWCA Off the Leash is a free program for youth aged 16-29 who are interested in finding employment or further education in the pet care industry, such as working as groomers, grooming assistants, dog walkers, dog day care attendants, veterinary office assistants, veterinary tech assistants.

Summer Student Placement Specialist – WorkBC Tri-Cities

The Summer Student Placement Specialist (SSPS) will be responsible for connecting youth between the ages of 15-30 to employers in their community. The SSPS will actively recruit youth through existing partners at the Tri-Cities WorkBC centres (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody), youth workers, local high schools, post-secondary institutions, Coquitlam School Board educations centres, and local community agencies.

Career Advisor, Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants Program

YWCA Metro Vancouver’s Aspire is a specialized employment program designed to support racialized newcomer women, particularly refugees and survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). Using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, Aspire addresses systemic employment barriers such as discrimination, cultural misunderstandings, and language challenges, offering services in multiple languages to ensure accessibility for participants.
