Job Futures 55+

YWCA Job Futures 55+ is a free 10-week employment program that prepares job seekers who are 55+ to achieve sustainable employment through skills training and employment supports. 

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
  • Group-based workshops on career exploration, employment options and health and wellness 

  • One-to-one support and individualized training plans 

  • Skills training or upgrading 

  • Job search support and on-the-job training 

  • Transportation support 

PARTICIPANTS MUST BE
  • 55+ years of age, not actively participating in, and receiving financial supports from another provincially or federally funded labour market program 

  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person legally entitled to work in Canada 

  • Living in Metro Vancouver

  • Unemployed or precariously employed and not a full-time student

After two and a half years of online program delivery, we are happy to introduce a new hybrid model, which will continue to provide participants with the flexibility of taking some of the workshops from home, but will add the much-needed face-to-face interactions between participants and facilitators.
