Under the general supervision of the Senior Operations Manager of WorkBC Centre, the Lead Facilitator/Career Advisor is responsible for working closely with job seekers, supporting them with their goals through group-based in-person and virtual workshops and providing one-to-one support in the self-serve resource area. Working virtually and in person with job seekers, the Facilitator/Career Advisor will ensure that job seekers receive the job search services needed to ensure that Clients are equipped with the tools needed to conduct their job search. The Lead Facilitator/Career Advisor is responsible for ensuring that data entries for Client databases are completed on regular basis. This role is also responsible for the development, maintenance, and delivery on online workshops. The Facilitator/Resource Advisor will develop and modify workshop and module materials to ensure program participants are receiving the most up-to-date job search tools. As the Lead Facilitator in this catchment, you will lead the facilitation/career advisor team in providing job search support for jobseekers.
What you’ll be doing:

Lead and support the facilitation team on workshop delivery, client service delivery, and day to day administrative tasks, including scheduling, database troubleshooting, coordinating with other YWCA catchment facilitators, developing curriculum.

Work one to one with clients of all genders/non-binary, in a drop-in employment resource center to assist them with employment related needs.

Work within the provincial WorkBC multi-agency employment model
-
Workshop development and facilitation, including providing online and in-person workshops
-
Providing in-person and online/hybrid services
-
Maintain up-to-date information on labour market trends, job postings, employment issues, community resources, education planning, volunteer opportunities, and other relevant employment related supports
-
Conduct orientation tours and intakes with clients to provide a preliminary needs determination
-
Be part of the community outreach team to coordinate and attend community events, meetings, materials distribution and support any events at the WorkBC Centre

Be familiar with and able to work with clients using the latest technology

Work as part of a team to deliver a comprehensive program designed to meet individual needs in person at WorkBC Centre

Provide follow up and support to self-serve clients before and after securing employment

Liaise with employers in the community to organize hiring fairs, employer panels and job postings

Act as a champion of the program, promoting our services throughout community and offsite workshops/presentations

Work closely with the Quality Improvement team and the Office Manager to ensure accuracy in data entry and service delivery

Adhere to onsite Health and Safety Procedures

Other duties as required
What you’ll need:
-
Passion for working with a diverse clientele around employment issues, including multi-barriered, immigrants, people with disabilities, etc.

Post-secondary education, a minimum of two years’ experience working in a related field, or a combination of education and/or experience
-
MBTI and Strong Certification and/or a career counselling certificate is considered an asset
-
Experience working with multi-barriered clients will be considered an asset
-
Ability to work in a flexible, friendly environment and relate well with a diverse range of clients

Knowledge of programs & services in Metro Vancouver, especially on the North Shore
-
Knowledge and experience providing employment counselling an asset
-
Understanding of the labour market in Metro Vancouver

Strong team player with initiative
-
Must have excellent computer skills
-
Additional languages an asset

A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
