Programs & Services
YWCA Safe Haven
YWCA Safe Haven is a free program that supports refugee claimants and asylum seekers to find immediate accommodation in BC.
What we do
We work with vulnerable newcomers to BC who are not eligible for federal settlement programs, but need support finding accommodation to rebuild safe, nurturing and supportive lives for themselves and their families.
Our program is in partnership with DiverseCity, and offers the Housing Search component of the SAFE HAVEN program in Surrey and North Delta.
We help with:
- Identifying appropriate emergency accommodation
- Finding short and long-term housing options
- Understanding the rental process and renters’ rights in BC
- Applying for subsidized housing in BC and rental supplements
We offer services in English, Ukrainian and French
Am I eligible?
You are eligible for this program if you:
- Are a refugee claimant or asylum seeker in need of emergency housing (not gender dependent)
