Valerie Mann Past Board Chair, YWCA Metro Vancouver

Valerie (Val) is a Senior Partner at Lawson Lundell LLP and focuses on mergers and acquisitions, financings and private equity/venture capital and corporate governance.

In addition to recognitions for practice in M&A law, corporate law and technology, she was recognized as a leading woman lawyer in Canada by Lexpert® in 2013. Val was named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 by the Women’s Executive Network in 2011, 2016, 2017 and was inducted into the Women's Executive Network Hall of Fame in 2018. She was the recipient of the Business in Vancouver Influential Women in Business Awards in 2021, was named one of the 500 Most Influential Leaders in BC in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and recognized by BC Business Magazine as one of BC’s Most Influential Women in Business in 2015 and BC's Most Influential Women in Finance in 2019.

Val has a B.Comm (Honours) from Queen’s University and a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School. She holds an ICD.D Designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors Rotman Director’s Education Program. She has served on a number of boards and board committees, including in the technology and entrepreneur sectors.
