Volunteer Description

YWCA housing communities provide safe and affordable homes for single women and their dependent children. Residents have access to other YWCA programs and services, and a foundation to move towards health, well-being and economic stability. Semlin Gardens, located near the Commercial Skytrain Station, is home to 28 single-mother led families.

Our Community Development Coordinator is looking for volunteers to help with meetings and events. Tasks would include:

  • Childminding and support for mothers so that they may attend meetings and workshops;
  • Facilitating activities for mothers and children
  • Helping the Community Development Coordinator with event planning and execution for special events and gatherings.
