YWCA Metro Vancouver’s 10-week PowerUp Ready entrepreneurship training program is seeking Business Mentors to make a lasting impact on aspiring female business owners. As a mentor, you will provide invaluable guidance, support, and expertise to women navigating the exciting journey of starting or growing their businesses. Your key responsibilities will include offering personalized advice, facilitating skill development, and providing strategic feedback. Reporting to the Program Business Advisor, you will work closely with participants to ignite their entrepreneurial spirit and boost their confidence. The Business Mentor will provide customized support and/or coaching for women in the PowerUp Ready program as they navigate starting and growing their own businesses. This position will be open to anyone with entrepreneurial expertise in the areas of:

• Customer Discovery
• Market Strategy/Marketing
• Taxes
• Financial Planning/Forecasting
• Risk Management
• Pitching
• Human Resources
• Business Operations
• Market Research and Analysis
• Business Set Up
• Scaling – Business Growth
• Bookkeeping

Qualifications:

• Education and/or certifications Business Owner, Business Consultant, Financial Consultant, Marketing Expert, Executive Coach, HR Consultant, Senior Strategist, or other related professional Industry experience. 
• Experience 7-10 years.  
• Specific skills and abilities Customer Discovery, Marketing, Taxes, Financial Planning/Forecasting, Pitching, HR, Risk Management, Business Operations, Scale Up, Start Up, Market Research, Bookkeeping 
• Personal attributes and core competencies Passionate about supporting women led businesses, small business planning, development, and market success.
• Other requirements
  • Volunteer Business Advisors must have a booking system for entrepreneurs to access ie. Calendly.
  • Volunteer Business Advisors must have a way to host virtual meetings ie Teams, Zoom etc.
  • Volunteer Business Advisors must report back on the status of the meeting for reporting purposes.
