Pride 2025
At YWCA Metro Vancouver, we’re committed to building inclusive spaces where people of all gender identities and expressions feel seen, valued, and safe. This page is your gateway to the resources, tools, and learning opportunities we’ve developed to help create more affirming environments for yourself, your workplace, or your community.
We’re proud to support 2SLGBTQIA+ communities all year through our programs, safe spaces and everyday actions, not just during Pride. As an organization that serves youth through a range of mentorship and after-school programs, we recognize that gender diversity is a natural and valid aspect of human experience.
This year, for Vancouver Pride, our Gender Inclusion Committee chose the theme “Protect Our Trans Youth,” a message that reflects our values and the work we do.
About the YWCA Gender Inclusion Committee
The Gender Inclusion Committee works across the YWCA to create a safe, equitable and just organization for people that experience marginalization on the basis of gender, sex, and sexual orientation. The Committee identifies opportunities, initiatives and changes that will strive to provide justice, equity, inclusion and safety to people that experience marginalization on the basis of gender, sex, and sexual orientation.
In June 2022, the YWCA, with the support of the Gender Inclusion Committee, contracted TransFocus Consulting to conduct an in-depth employee consultation process to explore further meaningful and tangible ways to advance gender inclusion in our workspaces, programs, and services.
