Fall into Fitness: Setting New Goals, Getting Fit and Being Healthy

We who work in the fitness industry love September! There is a rush of familiar faces and new members coming in to workout, all refreshed after summer adventures. It’s like the party is starting all over again and it’s time to get on board and join in.

The last few days I’ve been checking in with members, instructors and trainers. Let me share some of the stories I’ve been hearing.

One trainer is reminded of what an impact training can have and why she loves what she does. She has a client who needed the use of a cane. Over the past months she introduced subtle exercises to the client’s program to re-awaken the muscles in his feet. He is now walking without the cane. He’s regained support from his feet. Brilliant.

Another instructor meets with a trainer to get an assessment and a weight training program. She learns of an imbalance in her quads that she didn’t realize she had. She adds one new specific corrective exercise and in only two weeks can feel an improvement in her strength. Enlightening.

A member comes to a class, it’s challenging…the whole class feels it. She comes back in two days later – to do it again. Her muscles are still reminded of the last workout, she pushes through – she feels strong, invigorated, motivated. Empowering.

We have an experienced group of fitness professionals here at YWCA Health + Fitness Centre who will coach and support you to success.
