Pride 2017 Events


The 39th Annual Pride Season is kicking off and here are some of the events that are happening this Pride weekend:

Terry Wallace Memorial Breakfast
When: Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, August 5, 8 AM

Where: Jim Deva Plaza in Davie Village

This is a by-donation community breakfast honouring one of the founders of Pride in Vancouver. Share a meal with your loved ones, or new friends, while also acknowledging the life of such an important person.

Vancouver Dyke March
When: Saturday, Saturday, August 5, 12 PM

Where: McSpadden Park

Join Vancouver’s 14th Annual Dyke March & Festival! The day will begin in McSpadden Park at 11 AM with some pre-March festivities and a community art project. Then, the March will leave McSpadden Park at 12 PM (noon) and end at Grandview Park for the Festival. The Festival will take place from 1 to 5 PM, and involve performances from various artists, feature queer-friendly vendors and create a space to gather with friends, family, and the community.

Jazz Up Your Pride with Martina Griffiths
When: Saturday, Saturday, August 5, 6 PM

Where: 1216 Bute Street, Vancouver BC

Kick off your Pride weekend with Martina Griffiths with Jazz standards 'It Was Just One of Those Things' and 'Honeysuckle Rose'. Enjoy her Pride rendition of classics such as, Prince's 'Kiss' and many other delectable musical selections.

Sunset Beach Festival

When: Sunday, August 6, 11 AM

Where: Sunset Beach Park

Celebrate Pride at the annual Sunset Beach Festival. This event brings together thousands of individuals in the LGBTQ2+ community and their allies for a day of fun‑filled festivities. There will be a diverse entertainment lineup at the main stage, a Family Fun Zone and a newly installed Community Zone.

39th Annual Pride Parade
When: Sunday, August 6, 12 PM

Where: West End, Vancouver

The Vancouver Pride Parade is one of the largest and most beautiful parades in Canada. Come celebrate the incredible diversity and resistance of the LGBTQ2+ community. Come and enjoy the amazing floats and vibrant colours.

When: Sunday, August 6, 5 PM

Where: Davie St. and Bute St.

Untoxicated is an event that provides a space for those who want to celebrate Pride in a drug and alcohol free space. This year the lineup includes, Rupaul’s stars Katya and DJ Nina Flowers.
