The Next 125 Ambassador, Sandy So

What is your favourite thing about the YWCA? What area of the organization’s work is most important to you?

I am touched by all the wonderful work done by YWCA, particularly towards young single mothers. I remember reading the story of a young woman who had a baby.  With support from the YWCA, she was able to go back to finish school and follow her dream to become a nurse! That’s inspiring!

What drew you in to the YWCA?

I am passionate about supporting women and children. The team at the YWCA have done a great job of keeping me informed about the amazing work the YWCA is doing.  

What value does the YWCA hold for future generations?

It helps to create a bright future for young single moms and their babies to succeed in life. The housing communities serving women is another shining example to help take some of the stress away from women, while caring for their children and making a living at the same time.  Children are our future! 

Why are you committed to The Next 125 and what does involvement in this initiative mean to you?

I am impressed and inspired by the work done by YWCA, and feel humbled and privileged to be able to help. We all live in the community and it is important for us to give back to our community.  It is truly a blessing to give, and help to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
