Navigating Child Support

This public legal education workshop will be hosted by Zain Abdulla (she/her), YWCA Staff Lawyer. This workshop will provide participants with an overview of child support in BC. We will discuss what the law says about child support, what child support is, the rights of the child, how to apply for child support and enforcement mechanisms. We will also review Section 7 expenses (special and extraordinary expenses).
YWCA Staff Lawyer provides free legal services to YWCA housing residents who have experienced violence from an intimate partner and are facing ongoing safety concerns. These services support residents in resolving family law, immigration, and child protection matters.
