This position is part of the “BC SAF HAVN” program (BC Services and Assistance for Humanitarian and Vulnerable Newcomers).  BC SAF HAVN provides wraparound services to support the social and economic integration of Refugee Claimants not eligible to receive services under federal settlement programs.

Youth Case Manager – WorkBC  

Under the general supervision of the Case Manager Coordinator and Centre Manager of the WorkBC Centre, the Case Manager is responsible for working closely with youth job seekers to assess service suitability, develop, and implement an Employment Action Plan. The Case Manager will support Clients with achieving their employment goals by referring them to WorkBC interventions such as, Skills Training, Short Term Skills Training, Employment Workshops, Self-Employment, Job Development, Wage Subsidy, etc.

Sheway Indigenous Peer Support Worker

Sheway is a community outreach program for childbearing women and their children who live in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. It provides flexible, non-judgmental, and nurturing services and uses a women-centered, harm reduction approach to support women’s self-determination, choices and empowerment. Sheway also offers respect and understanding of First Nations culture, history, and tradition.

BC SAF HAVN Emergency Housing Coordinator 

BC Services and Assistance for Humanitarian and Vulnerable Newcomers (BC SAF HAVN) is a funded initiative (Ministry of Municipal Affairs) to support eligible newcomers to achieve their best possible settlement outcomes.  The BC SAF HAVN Emergency Housing Coordinator will assist refugee claimants who live in Surrey and North Delta with short term emergency accommodation and with their housing search.

Senior Content Strategist, Communications and Fund Development

The Senior Content Strategist manages editorial guidelines and processes, leads cross-departmental editorial projects, and writes and edits engaging content to advance the YWCA’s strategic and fund development priorities. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing Communications, this dynamic position works across the marketing communications and fund development teams to ensure the organization’s content is clear, compelling, aligned and on brand.

The Assets Clerk ensures seamless processing of repair request and preventative maintenance for YWCA Metro Vancouver housing sites.  The Assets Clerk assists with Move in and Move Out Inspections, when needed.  The Assets Clerk understands the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on their accuracy and efficiency. Maintaining positive relations with both tenants, residents and vendors is an essential function for this position.

Career Advisor, Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants (2 positions available)

The YWCA Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants program is a funded initiative (Ministry of Municipal Affairs and IRCC) to support newcomers to Canada who live in North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and the Coast; and have international credentials, training and skills from outside of Canada. YWCA Career Paths participants will work one-on-one with knowledgeable career coaches to gain valuable resources needed to assist them in launching their careers in Canada.

Career Advisor, Tech Connect Program

YWCA Metro Vancouver’s Tech Connect is a program that delivers employment services to racialized newcomer women searching for work in the information technology (IT) sector. Tech Connect includes the following components: facilitation of workshops, recruiting employer contacts from the tech sector; hosting alumnae engagement activities.

Summer Student Placement Specialist, WorkBC North Vancouver

The Summer Student Placement Specialist (SSPS) will be responsible for connecting students between the ages of 15-30 to employers in their community. The target will be to serve 100 students. The SSPS will actively recruit students through existing partners, youth workers, and the local high schools and post-secondary institutions.

The Career Advisor role works directly with clients in one-on-one and group-based environments, providing guidance and skills-building support in person and virtually. Case Manager, WorkBC Richmond

This YWCA position will be working as part of a multi-agency team within the Richmond WorkBC Catchment operated by SUCCESS to connect job seekers with progressive employment, training opportunities and holistic supports.  The successful candidate will be working in delivering case management services for a range of clients in Richmond, representing the mission and values of the YWCA, including newcomer women, vulnerable women, single parents, and survivors of violence.
